Abstract

The article presents a theoretical analysis of the problem of using phototherapy in psychological counselling and psychotherapy. It is noted that in domestic researches, phototherapy is currently one of the most effective and innovative types of art therapy and is widely used in medical, pedagogical, therapeutic and consulting practice of working with clients. The article reveals the goals, types of stages and the functional purpose of phototherapy in psychological counselling. Furthermore, the special place of the psychologist and therapist in working with the client in the practice of phototherapy is noted. A particular place in the article is occupied by the characteristics of fundamental phototherapy techniques used by various foreign and national authors in their work with customers. In conclusion, we presented the main conclusions about the effectiveness of the use of phototherapy in the work of a psychologist and outlined the prospects for further work, which consists in the need to create author's techniques of phototherapy.
