Abstract
The Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation is pleased to present this synopsis of Practice Guidelines for the Management of Constipation in Adults. Use of these guidelines, based on the best available scientific knowledge and expert consensus, will facilitate implementation of the most recent research findings and assist practitioners to appropriately prevent and manage problems related to constipation in adults. The full text of the guidelines will be available on the ARN Web site, www.rehabnurse.org in late fall of 2002.
