Abstract

At the October, 1987, ASCE National Convention, the Technical Council on Forensic Engineering sponsored a panel discussion, which addressed the practical aspects of quality control of construction. Panelists represented viewpoints of owners/developers, contractors, design‐build contractors, and designers. Opinions as to responsibility for quality control and its costs varied with each speaker's perspective. The panelists agreed that quality control is essential and worth the costs. Case histories were used to relate the panelists' experiences with quality control of construction.
