Detailed, step-by-step, practical instructions are provided for the production of homogeneous aminoplastic standards containing known concentrations of light and heavy elements. These can be used for the fully quantitative microprobe analyses of both plastic-embedded and cryosectioned biological soft-tissue specimens.
