Abstract

The Radio frequency identification technology (RFID) can detect and identify the tagged items in supermarkets and also used in fake objects authentication. However, the costly chip of current RFID tags is making it hard to compete with low-cost barcode identification system. The chipless version of RFID tags is designed, fabricated and printed in this research work to develop low-cost RFID system. The thesis work is mainly focused on the development of chipless RFID tag via low-cost printing technology and design of printed tags with improved performance in terms of data capacity and readability.
