Abstract

SYNOPSIS Denmark has a long history of academic achievement in the field of high insulation, starting with the work of Professor Dr Techn Poul Becher some 40 years ago. This work is reviewed and is followed by a series of extracts from the Danish Building Code. Some direct comparisons are made between Danish and United Kingdom energy costs and degree days. The paper concludes with a brief comment on the difference in approach to Building Codes and Regulations in the two countries.
