Abstract

The authors present their research findings at four different municipal waste incinerators (MWIs) concerning generation and release of dioxins and furans. The analytical results of the following design and operation conditions are described: “cold blowing”, flue gas cooling and “soot blowing”. In addition, input variation test results are presented. Consequences for reducing the emission of halogenated dioxins and furans are discussed.
