Abstract

Objective: To investigate whether botulinum toxin type B (BTX-B) is effective in improving function, range of motion (ROM), and reducing forearm spasticity in adults with spastic hemiparesis. Design: A single-site, single-blind prospective study. Setting: Outpatient rehabilitation facility at a university hospital. Participants: 21 subjects with spasticity at the elbow, wrist, or finger who had hemiplegia for at least 6 months. Interventions: Subjects were evaluated for ROM, function, spasticity, and tone preinjection.
