Abstract

Objective: To examine the correlation between hand grip strength with static and dynamic measures of strength in adult women. Design: Correlational design. Setting: Indoor exercise facility in a university setting. Participants: 41 women (average age, 24.8y; range, 18.2−47.1y). Interventions: Not applicable. Main Outcome Measures: Grip strength as measured by Jamar hand grip dynamometer, peak torque of shoulder internal and external rotation as measured by Cybex NORM isokinetic dynamometer, and throwing velocity as measured by JUGS Sonic Speed sports radar gun.
