Abstract

A possibility of complex alloyed heat resistant 8Kh4V9F2-Sh steel bearing rings quenching using vacuum heat treatment installation is studied. The quenching is performed in inert gas (molecular nitrogen) media. Technological advantages of vacuum heat treatment are shown. The heat treatment technology is adapted for vacuum media use. The technological regime optimization is performed. The required grain size and the corresponding with necessary heat resistance concentration of alloying elements in the martensitic matrix are guaranteed by optimal choose of soaking time for quenching. The applied high gas pressure during quenching causes an increase of the machine parts contact durability.
