Abstract

Automatic constant positive airway pressure ventilation (AutoCPAP) is a commercial success in the management of the obstructive sleep disorders (OSD). Nevertheless, several studies have questioned their reliability in terms of recognition and correction of respiratory events depisted by polysomnography. Moreover, all devices tend to invent eventswhen submitted to a healthy subject. Fixed CPAP must remain the first-choice treatment for the management of the OSD.
