Abstract

Chronic atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with a poor outcome due to cardiovascular events. The outcome of new-onset AF during vascular surgery is unknown. New-onset AF might be induced by the stress of surgery or as a consequence of myocardial ischemia. Continuous electrocardiography (cont-ECG) can assess myocardial ischemia by ST-segment analysis, new-onset AF and their relation in time.
