Abstract

Although there are improvements in medical and surgical treatment modalities, infective endocarditis (IE) has a higher morbidity and it could be fatal. 5-10% of cases are right-sided IE and intravenous drug abuse, central venous catheters, immunosuppression and prolonged surgery are the main risk factors. We presented a right sided IE secondary to a long hospital stay after traffic accident without known predisposing heart disease.
