Abstract

Inotropic agents particularly dopamine is used very frequently in neonatal intensive care units for low blood pressure, poor circulation or urine output or simply for the infant not looking good. However the efficacy of this approach is still being questioned. The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of dopamine on cerebral tissue oxygenation index (cTOI) and amplitude integrated EEG (aEEG) voltage levels in newborns with poor circulation.
