Abstract
Project of sub-GW to GW power W-band planar Cherenkov oscillator driven by large-size sheet electron beam forming by the “ELMI” accelerator 1 MeV / 7 kA / 3 µs is under development in collaboration between IAP RAS (N.Novgorod) and BINP RAS (Novosibirsk). Electrodynamic system of this maser is based on 2D periodical slow-wave structure realizing 2D distributed feedback mechanism and allowing for provision of stable narrow-band oscillation regime under conditions of substantial oversize. Design parameters, key components and results of simulations of this oscillator are presented, status of its experimental realization is discussed.
