Abstract

One of the most urgent problems of power engineering is power systems reliability. Power transmission lines are one of the most widespread elements of power systems. The most frequent cause of technological disturbances on the overhead and cable power transmission lines is insulation breakdown and flashover. The paper considers current and voltage sensor designed to be used in the device controlling the insulation condition. However, the construction of the sensor allows decision of several additional issues. They are: calculations of the current thermal effect, analysis of electrical energy quality indicators, electrical power accounting. Data processing techniques using microprocessor engineering are considered. The proposed construction of the sensor allows for the decision of all enumerated issues. However, electric power accounting demands high accuracy of measurement. So, the research of the sensor metrological characteristics is to be done.
