Abstract

The national electricity market (NEM) of Australia, operated by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), comprises five regions on the eastern coast of Australia. Together, they exhibit unique characteristics compared to most other international power systems. This stems from world-class wind and solar resources and the absence of interconnection to neighboring countries.
