Abstract

Paralleling of smaller rated modular converters is done to enhance the reliability and reduce the costs which would be incurred by the installation of a single converter of larger rating. This work focusses on the power sharing between distributed generators which are based on modular inverters with parallel AC and DC buses. Two strategies based on adaptive variation of virtual impedance (VI) have been utilized, which can be integrated seamlessly with the conventional and inverse droop controllers. This communication-less (decentralized) control has been validated for its performance for different type of loads extensively through simulations.
