Abstract

This paper reviews a comprehensive survey of the power quality issues for wind energy focus on the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). Harmonics are the very important power quality disturbances. Various mitigation techniques were discussed to eliminate the harmonics of wind energy systems. In this paper, there is extensive review of various control techniques for active harmonic filter, positive and negative sides of each introduced control technique are presented. In addition to using the wind energy conversion systems (WECs) as an active filter. The review helps researchers in this subject to select the optimal control techniques when operating the WECs with active filter function.
