Abstract
AbstractThis paper presents a study into power quality issues in the Taipei Rapid Transit System (TRTS). The effect of three‐phase voltage unbalance upon the second harmonic of the DC power network is simulated using the EMTP. Also studied are harmonic currents produced by the variable‐voltage variable‐frequency (VVVF) inverters of the motor‐cars at three different control modes, and possible series and parallel harmonic resonances resulting from the rail inductance and the filter capacitance.
