Abstract

Control technique based on Simple peak detection of load current is developed for DSTATCOM in three- phase four-wire (3P4W) distribution system for power Quality (PQ) enhancement. The control technique used in this paper is easy to understand and also it can be easily implemented in the real time. The proposed control technique used for the estimation of active & reactive components of the load current using low pass filter and coupling point voltage unit templates in time domain. For fast and accurate computation, the mathematical formulation is used for the reference current extraction. A four- leg DSTATCOM is modeled and implemented for linear & non linear load in distribution system. DSTATCOM is performing quite satisfactory operation under balanced as well as unbalanced load in terms of voltage regulation, neutral current compensation, load balancing and source harmonic suppression in 3P4W distribution system.
