Abstract

Micro Grid is a limited distributed AC or DC network here the distributed generating resources are connected to the distributed linear as well as nonlinear loads through power electronics converter to provide more reliable and quality power to the distributed loads. Micro Grid capable of optimize capital resources by minimizing operations and maintaining costs. Thus makes full use of low cost generation resources and reduce waste. Micro Grid is necessary to operate in both interconnected mode and standalone mode. Interconnected Mode is the MG is connected to National Grid either being supplied by it or injecting some amount of power into the main system. Islanding Mode is the MG operates separately when the disconnection from the upstream Mega Volt occurs in main grid network. Usage of power electronic interface converters and non linear loads results in harmonics generation, which leads to power quality issues. Most of intensive users of electricity are suffering to a certain poor quality of electrical power. The excellent time-frequency resolution characteristic of FFT is used for detection of various power quality disturbances Micro Grid connected Distributed Generation systems. The FFT plays important role in analysis, design and implementation of discrete signal processing.
