Abstract
With the Bay of Bengal region opening into the Malacca Strait, it is the connecting link between the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean; it also connects South Asia and Southeast Asia. The Bay of Bengal is critical to India's security and existence. With the Bay of Bengal becoming the focus of international pressure, the Indo-Pacific countries are carving out their own areas of influence and engaging in bilateral or joint exercises with friendly nations and also forming multilateral regional organization. Started in 1992, it is a trilateral military naval exercise held in the Indian Ocean region and also in the Bay of Bengal, jointly with the United States and America and Japan. Following the Chinese incursions in Ladakh, the United States of America and the Indian navy undertook a naval military exercise on June 15, 2020, near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of the Bay of Bengal.
