Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of a hardware platform for wireless sensory network applications. This hardware platform is designed to address the constraints of size, cost and energy consumption imposed on wireless sensor network nodes. It also presents the development of a power metering application based on the manufactured hardware devices. The application will measure and log the power consumption of different household or office appliances and transmit gathered information wirelessly to a base station. Moreover, the application has also been used for testing and exploring various capabilities and functionalities of the hardware platform.
