Abstract

In a rapidly changing world new technological advancements and improvements are a constant need and in the field of communication and data transmission the necessity of a new technology is a need of the hour. The Power Line Communications (PLC) is one such technology described in this paper which allows transmission of data over existing power lines. Since power lines are almost ubiquitous this technology could have a rapidly emerging market, utilizing existing electricity power lines for high speed transmission of data and voice servers. This method could possibly be seen as a new approach for home automation and for data transmission within industries internally and externally.
