Abstract

Wind and gas complementary power generation system(WGCPGS) has been proposed to compensate wind power fluctuation and cope with the large-scale wind power grid connected problem owing to the excellent properties of gas turbine units recently. However, the traditional power control strategy is PI control for gas turbine units in complementary system which can't adapt to the off-design condition caused by wind power fluctuations. A gas turbine unit power control scheme based on fuzzy adaptive PI control algorithm is presented in this paper. The scheme observes power deviation, deviation change rate of gas turbine units in WGCPGS at each moment and uses a fuzzy inference rule to regulate controller parameters real time. The power reference value disturbance and off-design condition simulations showed that the ability of tracing power reference value for gas turbine unit is enhanced and the dynamic and static performances of the system are improved greatly based on fuzzy adaptive PI control strategy compared with the conventional PI control. Moreover, verification test for WGCPGS illustrated better complementary effect and meet desired requirements.
