Abstract

The Electrical Engineering undergraduate programme at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) gives students an exposure to power engineering subjects, while the department offers a specialization in Power Electronics and Power Systems at the graduate level. Whereas the laboratories in power engineering are an integral part of both programmes, traditional power engineering laboratories, i.e., machines, power electronics and power systems have undergone changes in style and content, and in line with the new developments in the field. This paper describes the salient features of the instructional laboratories at IIT-B.
