Abstract
This book is a primer for young students eager to know how to design and build their first rectifier. Yet the final chapters are strong enough to review advanced power electronics applications in renewable energy, distributed generation, and microgrids. The book is divided in four sections, covering subjects from power semiconductors devices to power converter topologies, electrical drives, and advanced power electronics applications. Includes the following: Section I includes an overview of the subject; Section II includes eight chapters about power converters; and Section III contains five chapters on electric drives. Many solved examples and exercises are also provided, as well as references in each chapter. A table of contents, preface, and index are also included. Appendix A highlights various MATLAB-based/Simulink models and programs for simulation, waveform plotting, and spectrum analysis of several power electronic converters.
