Abstract

Abstract Power spectra covering a frequency range of 0.002 to 100 cycles/hr of scalar surface-wind speed at Palmyra Island during the period of the Line Island Experiment of 1967 are presented. The distribution of eddy kinetic energy in the medium- and high-frequency range is similar to that at the middle latitudes. In general, the spectrum followed the minus five-thirds power law.
