Abstract

The power demand for the demolition of pineapple ( Ananas comosus ) fi elds at the end of their productive cycle with a fl ail mower has been determined using strain gage measures, the trials were conducted at three different angular velocities of the cutting apparatus and three translation velocities, using two different sets of knives. The results of the investigation show the infl uence of the knife type and cinematic regime of the cutting apparatus in the energy demand; furthermore they allow the validation of fl ail mower power demand models. Se determino la demanda de potencia de la demolicion de campos de pina ( Ananas comosus ) que terminan su ciclo de produccion con una trituradora de mayales, con dos tipos de cuchillas, tres velocidades angulares del organo de corte y tres velocidades del conjunto, utilizando mediciones tensometricas. Los resultados de las investigaciones demuestran la infl uencia del tipo de cuchilla y el regimen cinematico delorgano de corte en la demanda de energia en la demolicion de rastrojos de pina, y permitieron validar los modelos para la demanda de potencia de la trituradora.
