Abstract

This paper proposes an active and reactive power control strategy for a wind-biogas-PV based hybrid system for rural electrification (HSRE). This hybrid system works in parallel with limited grid power supply. The purpose of the model is to provide continuous and reliable power supply to remote areas. Dynamic modeling for active and reactive power control of squirrel case induction generator (SCIG) based wind energy conversion system (WECS) has also been done. The reactive power consumed by SCIG is supplied by the inverter of solar PV and synchronous generator of biogas genset. Additional power supply is not consumed from the grid as desired. The model behaves in a stable manner post disturbance in load active and reactive power and input wind and solar power.
