Abstract

The recent power outage in the northeastern region of the US and Canada is a “wake-up call to decision makers,” says the Rocky Mountain Institute ( www.rmi.org ), and called for distributed, diverse and resilient clean technologies to power their economy. The existing system is based on a century of heavily-centralized generation and distribution policies, “can trigger a cascading series of errors that leaves us vulnerable and should be corrected.” This is a short news story only.
