Abstract
Abstract : This Special Bibliography Series, Number 112, Power and Influence: Global Dynamics in the 21st Century, was developed by the McDermott Library's Social Sciences Bibliographer and Reference Librarian, Frances K. Scott, in support of the 53rd Academy Assembly to be held at the United States Air Force Academy, 18-21 October 2011. Most items cited in the bibliography are included in the McDermott Library's collections, including online databases. The program may compare traditional, modern, and future ideas on the meaning of power and influence. Areas of discussion may include: ** Comparing possible centers of power such as: military-economic state power, emerging states, regional power, soft/smart power, cultural influence, international institutions, NGOs, information, or resources (oil, water, etc.). ** Traditional versus newer non-traditional ideas on how national and international decisionmakers worldwide will wield power. ** Individual versus organizational power.
