Abstract

The purpose of the present paper is to determine the apparent yield stress of powder metallurgy (PM) materials at high temperatures. A brief introduction concerning the theory of yielding of PM materials is included. The models of loading functions for porous materials are recalled. The experiments have been undertaken by the author to identify the parameters of PM materials in hot forming. Two materials are considered: pure iron and aluminium powders.
