Abstract

The author proposes an analysis of secular pilgrimages. Referring to the notion of ‘secular pilgrimage’ he takes into account, via a simultaneously anthropological and sociological approach, a socially multiform reality ranging from annual public tributes to illustrious men to political commemorations solemnized by historic events, visits to historic sites and even gatherings in memory of deceased show-business stars.
