Abstract

Summary The French association of behavioral and cognitive therapy (AFTCC) is going to celebrate its fortieth anniversary. Founded in 1972 it has for associative projects to make itself known, teach and contribute to the development and the availability of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The activist spirit, that prevailed in its beginning from some health professionals’ oppositions and critics, must stay maintained but also adapted to 2018 reality. CBT have largely proved their efficiency and it is now time for new plans to begin and others to develop. Some of the development's axes have already begun like the promotion of the supervision and the work for management of CBT by the health Insurances Company. Other projects are beginning like the acknowledgement of the therapist profession in CBT by the “Repertoire National des Certification Professionnelle” and the switch to English in the future Journal of Behavioral and Cognitive therapy.
