In Reply. — My statements do reflect my views. I am not cynical about the majority of physicians in America, but there is no question that a few of them, with their billing practices, have severely damaged fee-for-service private practice of medicine for the rest of us. For confirmation, please listen to the public, big business, big labor, and the insurance companies. The exact amount that physician greed adds to health care costs is unknown to me. It is also unknown to Dr Woody, so I am not sure why he assumes it is minor. Historically, the American Medical Associationhasbehaved as a physicians'union, fighting tooth and nail any attempt to cut physicians' fees in any way. I was in practice for 30 years, and I loved the American Medical Association for it. But current reimbursement problems related to health care financing are changing matters for all of us,
