Abstract

AbstractThe complexes of N‐p‐tolyl‐p‐methoxybenzo hydroxamic acid with Cu(II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Mn(II) are studied by potentiometric titration in the mixtures 50, 60 and 70 vol % dioxane and respectively 50, 40 and 30 vol % water at 25 and 35°C · 0.1°C. The thermodynamic ionisation constants of p‐T‐p‐MBHA are reported in the mixtures 10, 20, 30, 40, 45, 50, 60 and 70 vol % dioxane and respectively 90, 80, 70, 60, 55, 50, 40 and 30 vol % water. The order of stability of the complexes and the effect of solvent on the formation constant are discussed.
