Abstract

Recently calculated collision cross sections for potassium-argon collisions are modified to allow for the presence of nuclear spin and are compared with experimental cross sections for the relaxation of orientation in the resonance levels. The experimental precision is found to be sufficient to decide between the proposed potentials.
