Abstract
The study explores about facile hydrothermal method to receive MoS2/MWCNTs (MC), aided with incorporated polypyrrole within MC as MCP through in situ oxidation polymerization of precursor pyrrole and by altering the volume ratio of pyrrole with a definite amount of MC to obtain MCP as the final product. This formation of the as-prepared nanocomposites was validated through the relevant and applicable characterizations. Further, the electrochemical properties of MCP were scrutinized in 1 M H2SO4 using EIS, CV, and GCD cycles. Among all the composites with varying pyrrole, MCP 1.5 establishes stupendous specific capacitance, 3352.08 F/g (2 mV/s) and 2170.83 F/g (10 mV/s) in tune with that of the GCD findings with 3283.34 F/g capacitance at 0.5 A/g current density, 98.56 % retention after 10,000 loops. Pertinently, a high-valued energy density of MCP 1.5 was found as 150.25 Wh/kg, howbeit, the respective energy densities of neat MoS2, MWCNTs, and PPy were found to be merely 17.12 Wh/kg, 2.58 Wh/kg, 14.66 Wh/kg. Further, the specific capacitance for MCP 1.5 as the best design was also studied as a 2-electrode system for storing electrical energy as asymmetric supercapacitor device MCP1.5//AC furnished high energy density 93.33 Wh/kg at a power density of 240.17 W/kg. The study furnishes a good room for the designed composite material as an influential candidate for energy assimilations.
