Abstract

Cis-Platinum contains 33.8% Pt195 in natural abundance. Pt195 is a stable isotope possessing a dipole moment measurable by NMR and a relative sensitivity 3.36 × 10–3 when compared to H1 (proton). 1) To determine if Pt195 has a characteristic interaction with native double-stranded DNA which is measurable by NMR. 2) To determine if there are characteristic changes associated with this signal that may be related to radiation induced DNA damage.
