Potential Areas of Ecological (Green) Tourism in Ukmergė District

Abstract

For harmony with nature, eco - green tourism is getting more popular. Eco - Green tourism - is kind of tourism, where the main purpose is to observe nature and local cultural manifestations, without adversely affecting the environment and giving local residents an opportunity for social and economic activities. Lithuania potential for such traveling is very high, because we have a lot of natural, nature conserved, human unspoiled areas and opportunities for waching birds and wildlife. Universal eco-tourism is considered to escalate at the beginning of 1983. An examination of the statistics of the incoming flow of tourists in Ukmergė region, reveals that this number is likely to increase. Ukmergė region extremely rich in natural attractions, so the analysis had been done by selected 4 areas: mansions and park, mounds, water and active water tourism, rural tourism and educational centers. In summary, the results suggest that the majority of Ukmerge district natural resources can be attributed to the personalized eco - green tourism. Adapting mounds (11 of 15) and educational centers (4 out of 4) are the strongest. A bit less is in rural tourism (10 of 14) and only 5 of 14 mansions. Sventoji and Siesartis rivers and pond Kadrėnų are mostly developed for green tourism. In order to develop the Green - eco-tourism area in Ukmerge it is appropriate to fix Leonpolis mantion and Obeliai lakes‘ areas.
