Abstract
Portal venous gas (PVG) is a rare condition that can occur after blunt abdominal trauma. The case of a young boy with PVG after a car crash is reported. The boy died after surgery because of major posttraumatic bowel necrosis. The aim of this article is to show that PVG can be a serious condition after blunt abdominal trauma in children.
