Abstract

This chapter reflects on the development of research in the area of Integrating Content and Language in Higher Education (ICLHE) by outlining the major theoretical and methodological milestones that the field has reached so far. It then goes on to highlight the contributions of the current book to the field with references to the different ICLHE contexts featured across the chapters. The chapter ends with a call for active engagement of ICLHE researchers in wider societal outreach in order to address current social and educational challenges.
