Abstract

Postpartum Depression: Prevalence and Associated Factors among Women in India Postpartum depression is a major public health problem in both resource-rich and resource-limited countries. Postpartum depression affects 10-15% of mothers in resource-rich settings. In contrast, the prevalence ranges from 11% to 42% in resource-limited settings. Studies have identified many psychosocial and biologic risk factors associated with PPD. The determinants of postpartum depression in resource-rich and resource-limited settings share themes cross-culturally.
