Abstract

Objective To investigate the occurrence characteristics and prevention of postoperative complications of ossification of the throacic ligamentum flavum. Methods The complications were classified and analysised in 42 cases undergone thoracic decompression. Results The rate of complications was higher, which consisted of low blood pressure or shock 4 cases(9.5%), cerebrospinal leak 5 cases(11.9%), injury of spinalcord 2 cases(4.8%), epidural hematoma 1 case(2.4%). Conclusions The incidence of complications of thoracic decompression procedure is high and severe. Key words: Thoracic vertebra; Ossification of ligamentum flavum; Operation; Complication
