Abstract

The postgraduate certificate in philosophy and mental health is a one year, part time distance course offered by the University of Central Lancashire. Two years gets you a diploma and three gets you a masters degree. The first two years each involve three modules assessed through essays, and for the masters a third year is spent on a dissertation. The course is self directed, though also taught from the Oxford Textbook of Philosophy and Psychiatry .1 It is aimed at anyone working within mental health services with an interest in the topic—not just psychiatrists.
