Abstract

Our best literature review of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) focuses on the importance of early identification and treatment to promote the best outcome. The goals of this case study are to bring awareness to PRES; to encourage early screening for at-risk pregnancies; and to promote aggressive treatment to prevent PRES and/or minimize the devastating side effects. These steps ultimately lead to positive outcomes with healthy postpartum women and their newborns.
