Abstract

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a reversible neurological entity, characterized by seizure, headaches, visual symptoms, impaired consciousness, and other focal neurological findings. It is caused by a wide variety of causes, and might ultimately lead to a vasogenic cerebral edema of occipital and parietal lobes of the brain. Researchers found that preeclampsia is one of the important cuases of PRES. However, the etiology of PRES is unclear. And this paper aims to explore the relationship between PRES and pregnancy by introducing the causes, prevention, and treatment of PRES. Key words: PRES; Pregnancy; Preeclampsia; Postpartum hemorrhage
