Posterior border reverse “L” osteotomy and condylar head as free graft for correction of ramal height in cases of high condylar extra Capsular fractures

Abstract

It is quite difficult and technically challenging to achieve correct occlusion post trauma in case of high condylar extra capsular fractures. The reason for not achieving correct occlusion is a difference in the ramal height. In cases of closed reduction, the ramal height cannot be equated. The technique described in this article is to gain post ramal height by performing a posterior border reverse "L" Osteotomy and condylar head as a free graft for correction of ramal height. This will help us to achieve equal ramal heights and a corrected occlusion , midline with good mouth opening.
